Your symptoms are certainly familiar. I was like that for many years. I was a specialized competitive upper level athlete, so this drove me crazy. I was the guy with Neoprene and Velcro braces all over the place. After gimping along for as long as I could, I eventually quit competing. of course all the other lyme symptoms Caught up to me by then too.
Like yourself , physical therapy just didn’t seem to work for me. After lyme treatment Physical therapy was effective.
But something that did help me deal with it was not normal physical therapy: Trigger point release and active release Technique (Those are actual US trademarks ) both Release tight tendons.
When the tight tendons release, then pressure on your joints feel better also. Tendons that have Tendinitis actually Contract, therefore they are tight.
Many chiropractors do this. You can also look on YouTube, but until you get the hang of it, it’s more effective with someone else doing it for you.
This is not normal physical therapy. But should have better results for you at this point in your life. Traditional physical therapy at this point probably will not work until your lyme is gone.
