It’s been years since I posted here, but can you please read my story and offer suggestions.
about three years ago I saw a tic in my bed in my RV while traveling out west.
Some weeks later I got severe pains that moved about my body every three days. It started in my right wrist then moved up my arm then down the other arm until I came to this forum and felt 90% sure I contracted Lyme Disease.
All my tests came back negative but I insisted to my doctor that she give me at least one month’s supply of Doxycycline at double dose, which I took.
The antibiotics made the symptoms go away.
A month ago it came back only this time the bad pain appeared in the side of my right thigh close to the bone. But it started with some leg and foot cramps and some joint pain in my feet and fingers.
It was a weekend (like now) and I didn’t want to take the antibiotics I had just in case until I got to the doctors.
When I made it to the doctors I could barely walk because of the pain. They took blood and then I got on Doxycycline again and in a few days 90% of the pain was gone.
I should add that before the Doxycycline kicked in my knee and hip swelled up.
I had an important meeting out of town two weeks ago and I stopped taking the Doxycycline after eight days because it was making me sick and I was needed at the meeting, and then I just forgot about it.
Since the meeting I've been under a great deal of stress, more than I've had in many years.
Now it’s started up again today and I know if I start taking the antibiotics again the pain will go away.
I’m thinking my doctor did not order enough tests or the wrong tests.
