Anyone trying anything NEW for their Lyme and getting cured?

We DO need a new antibiotic. But short of that any new news???

HELP.

I know my doctor likes to use Benicar to reduce inflammation and open up the blood vessels so the abx can penetrate better.

He also uses a cyst buster, like Flagyl along side the Benicar and a conventional antibiotic. And that is just talking Lyme, not the co-infections!

The old lyme treatments are the new lyme treatments.

There's a natural antibiotic called Lauricidin, I wonder if anyone here's tried it please? I'd have to import it from the US so it would be expensive.

I am very interested in hearing what you have to say about these other treatments. I found the information on low dose naltrexone in treatment for Parkinsons, Multiple Sclerosis, and Lyme interesting. Same with the other antibiotics.

As the original post stated we do need other antibiotics because of treatment failures that even the best LLMD's are unsure of how to treat. I would add that we also need definitive testing if possible for those who have had to rely on a clinical diagnosis - which leaves them vulnerable to resistance by the insurance community, and other people who question the diagnosis and then the treatment.

For those who prefer a natural approach I imagine they continue to look for further information and feedback on evolving treatments. Are there any studies with clinical data showing success of the natural approach? There seems to be no doubt that people have had success with this approach but I don't know how sick they were, were they clinically diagnosed or positive by testing? After treatment did they test negative?

I am and have been on IV antibiotics for late stage lyme and babesiosis for over a year and they saved my life and gave me some of it back. Would I have had the same results with a more natural approach? I don't have the answer to that. I had been on IV previously, but in retrospect it was too short of a time and not the right combination. In short, it was not aggressive enough. I went undiagnosed for a long long time.

I suspect that for me, using antibiotics along with supplements is the best approach at this time. Maybe the future will change my approach but this is where I am. I will continue treatment as long as I need to but I do worry about coming off them and finding that I slide backwards. I have a lot of very good days but when I have some bad ones I get scared. I am 57 so it is important to remember that not everything is Lyme, which adds another dimension in figuring out what is going on with our minds and bodies.
