Hi All! Well I guess I should start off with a little background of myself. I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease in July of this year (2008). I was basically diagnosed by the "bulls-eye" rash. They were very skeptical at first because I live in Iowa, and not many cases of Lyme Disease are reported here each year. They put me on Doxycycline (sorry if it's misspelled) and said to come back if the rash did not go away. The rash started disappearing about a week after I started my antibodics and my symptoms seemed to improve. However about 2 weeks after I was done taking the medication. I started noticing symptoms again. And ever since then, they have become worse. I have good days and bad days. One day I can wake up feeling refreashed, others, I will sleep 10-12 hours and then more after that, my joints will hurt so bad I can barely walk. My headaches have come back, I never feel fully rested. I returned to the doctor, and with in some many words, don't believe me, and have done nothing. Just tell me to come back if my condition worsens. I don't want to seem like I am bashing my doctor, I just simply think they don't know much about Lyme Disease. So I guess this is where I ask for advice. Where do I go from here? I don't feel like the antibodics worked, it seems like my doctor thinks it's all in my head, and I can't go on living feeling this way! I want to get a referral to the University of Iowa Hospital but I feel lost, I don't even know where to begin! If anyone can offer any advice it is much appericated! Thanks for everything ahead of time. Best Wishes, Rosebert
