Apparently, Normetanephrine is a metabolite of Norepinephrine (adrenal hormone that is involved in "flight or fight" response to stress) and may be a marker for certain types of tumors (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normetanephrine ). However, being that yours is only slightly elevated, it could be normal daily variation, lab error, etc., so I'd discuss this with your doctor and if still concerned, maybe re-checking blood levels, or checking urine levels may be useful.
