Cut and paste the link above without the www. It's not on all of my nails, but I do get these spots from time to time on different nails.

I just took this picture today.

Thanks in advance... I'm glad to have found a ton of support here.. Makes life a little easier.

My 12 year old sees white spots floating around. I use to see dark ones running across the floor...lol

Nurse Gary: I have not seen any posts about these white spots on the nail, where did you read about that? I have had them forever, worse when I am feeling bad. I thought they were from my mold exposure. I would like to read about it if you have the link. Thanks   D

Zinc def. can cause white spots, but this looks more like an injury to the nail bed below the cuticle. the Zinc spots tend to be more circular. I have had this happen when I banged my finger with the hammer below the nail in the past. It is easy to forget about the injury before the nail grows out. I think it is likely an old injury, unless it involves more than one nail.

I was told its mineral def; whatever it might be, mine always go away when I eat whole-grain pasta at least once a day; there are times when I am completely addicted to this kind of pasta; my nails got hard with this too, before my "pasta- mania" they were always brittle (<-- does this word fits with fingernails ?? it sounds strange..!!)

I think that is a mineral dificiency. It appears that you do not have moons - is this true? I don't have any except it is coming back in my thumbs. I have read B 12 can affect this as well as zinc. Try taking some B12. It will also help your anxiety if you are low in it. If you have lyme, magnesium, B6 and zinc are also important to supplement.

I have horizontal beaus lines on all my nails, not sure what it is from but read  its from a serious system illness on the internet --it scares me It began after these pains did

I did a little online research. Zinc dificiency can cause those spots. Other symptoms are hair loss and lowered immune system.
