I'd suggest she look into using a Rife Machine, as well as using any herbs she can tolerate (she can try taking the capsules of dried raw herb, or making tea and drinking that). Also, homeopathic remedies for symptoms may be very helpful ~ Ledum is known to help many with Lyme (both humans and animals).

First I have to say your success at the clinic in AZ is encouraging to me - thanks for sharing!

Ledum is a homeopathic remedy made from an herb called Marsh Tea. Homeopathy is medicine that is created from real substances, but diluted down to the point that little to none of the original substance remains, but the essence or energy of the original substance remains. It sounds like snake oil, but I've seen some amazing things happen from homeopathy.

It has been a long, hard road (and still is...). Pancytopenia is a fancy way of saying low red blood cells + low white blood cells + low platelets all occurring at the same time. Since I don't have this every time I have a blood test, but do have it periodically, it is considered "intermittant."

I don't know when I got Lyme - but I've had symptoms since 1978.

I don't mind answering questions, so no apology needed.

I'm thinking that you might need to take a break for a bit from the herbs to allow your body to detox. One thing that can be helpful is comfortably warm epsom salt or baking soda bath soaks to help pull the toxins out.

about the not being able to eat: Do you have a vegetable juicer? If not, I highly encourage you to get one. And a book called, "Fresh Vegetable and Fruit Juices" by Dr. Norman W. Walker. Fresh, raw juices can be very healing to the body because they are so nutrient-dense, and yet they take a minimal amount of digestive effort because there is no fiber and they are full of live enzymes. Try to use organic fruits and vegetables if you do juice...they are more nutritious and haven't been messed up by genetic engineering (and I think organic veggies/fruits taste better...).

Another book I recommend is "The Homeopathic Treatment of Lyme Disease" by Peter Alex. This book explains all about homeopathy and how it can be helpful for Lyme Disease, even long-standing Lyme.

Yes, I've heard good things about Dr. Jernigan and I've heard that his Lyme treatment has a positive track record.

If you make a new topic asking for Lyme-Literate alternative medicine practioners in your area, you might get some recommendations from others on this forum. I live on the opposite side of the US, so I'm not too much help for this...

Thank you so much for your help! Yes, I juice, juice, juice and it is the only thing keeping me alive. I eat only organic and am a raw vegan. I have been in amazing health for years since I became one but I was exposed to toxic mold last fall and quickly my health declined.
I am stopping the herbs as you suggested because my body cannot detox fast enough. I have been doing the Epson salt baths but did not use the baking soda, I will try that too. I have been doing Far infared saunas and more but I must be too sensitive and have not been able detox enough. I will get the book on homeopathics. I have also contacted Dr. J.

Hi Gracie's Mom,

I am highly allergic to abx and most all pharma. (multiple chemical sensitivities). No food allergies. I am awaiting more test results from Igenex and also the cd57 from Labcorp but I did test positive in Nov.08, Igm only. I have been sick since October 08 after I was exposed to some type of toxic mold in late Sept. 08. Before that I felt that I was in the most amazing health and never saw a tick bite. My house is in the Hudson valley where there is an epidemic.

I am sorry hear about your daughter! I hope that she will be ok. It is tough enough for an adult to go through this.

Dorit, thank you for your response. I am so happy to hear that you are doing well! Right now my condition is very painful but I have hope. I do not have a Lyme doc since they can only give me abx which I am severely allergic to. I can only go the alternative route so thank you again for the valuable info! I am researching everything that I can.

Wow, Razzle, we are definitely speaking the same language here! Yes, you are right about the mold and it was exactly what I think about the exposure. I have been exposed before in my life and then had long term illness, from systemic candida to parasites, which I did recover from. There is a disruption in the phase 2 detoxication cytochrome p450 system of my body, which may be genetic or severely damaged from chemical or mold exposure in my past. My body cannot process many chemicals and certainly not mold. I was not always like this, though, it started in my early thirties only after taking several courses of abx. Before that I could take abx without a problem. But when I started to have allergies to abx, I rapidly became allergic to many other things, mainly chemicals. The question in my mind is whether I have had Lyme since my early thirties, and all of the chemical problems and mold are an additional side effect. At that time in my life I spent a lot of time outdoors in South Hampton and did not even know what Lyme was.

I have Buhner's book and have been reading it. I have been taking some of the herbs. I am also going to try some other things.

Oh Gracie's Mom! You and your daughter have been through so much. I am so sorry for that. I have had some issues in my life (certainly not at the level you are having with your daughter) that remind me of some of the things she has gone through. When I was much younger I took repeated courses of antibiotics for anything from bladder infections to lung infections (I wasn't always allergic). One day, after being on abx for 9 days I had a life threatening reaction where I could not breathe and my throat started to close up. I was rushed to the hospital. From that time on I became allergic to everything including foods, perfumes, etc. I was told that I had systemic Candida. I went on a very restrictive diet of mostly protein and meat for almost 2 years and really got better. The idea is to starve the yeast. My allergies to foods and simple chemicals basically cleared, but not to abx or steroids, sulfas, etc. Many years went by and I was fine as long as I didn't take those drugs until about 4 years ago when I became sick from most all chemicals including simple skin creams and such. I went through a super detox and went on a raw vegan diet which I remain on to this day. My quality of life became amazing. The concept behind the diet is to eat only living foods that have their enzymes intact so they can help to digest the food for you so you don't use vital reserves in your body that are needed for healing and repair. Now, I know that from what you are telling me about your daughter that my situation was not in anyway as frail but I wanted to mention it in case the information can help in any way. I also have tried Naet but have not been able to dive completely into it because of my very painful Lyme symptoms. I think that the mold toxins that I was exposed to have sent me over the edge and my body lost it's balance. I am working to retrieve it the best I can. Any information that I can get from kind people like yourself, helps me and others get one step closer to health and happiness. Thank you so much for sharing your story about you daughter.

There are many alternative treatments for Lymes disease on this board. Lot's of good info on this thread. I used a lot of essential oils that Razzle was talking about when I was being treated for Lyme's . I was being treated by Dr. Jernigan and I would walk out of his clinic smelling like a flower garden! I was very surprised I could handle the oils because I was always so 'smell' sensitive. Perfumes could set off a migraine in minutes. But I had no problems with the oils, fragrant though they were.

My body cannot process many chemicals and certainly not mold. So unfortunately, I cannot take abx because they become poisons.

I think that the Rife machine may be a very viable treatment from what I have read and heard from other people.
