Yes, it is safe to take more than 1000mg Vitamin C daily unless you have kidney disease. My Mom takes 3000mg daily, more if she's fighting a cold or something. And there is the salt/vitamin C protocol for Lyme that recommends very large doses of Vitamin C daily.
Take care,

Razzle, What does more than 1,000 mg of Vitamin C do negatively for Kidney Disease? I have a family history of PKD, so don't want to over due the C.

Kendal, Vit C is not stored in the body. Just be aware that it is a natural laxative!

One lady told me that her doc had her taking 18,000 to 20,000 mg today. Seems wasteful to me.

A doctor was trying to get me up to 20,000 mg a day but I got diarrhea. You can harm your kidneys. Google for vitamin C overdose.
