Dr Zhang'e Herbs

I am planning to visit Dr Zhang in a couple of weeks - has anyone seen him/used his herbs? I am a physician who also does Chinese medicien and I think his protocols make a lot of sense. I have been on Mepron/ Zithromycin for 5+ months for Babesia, in addition to omnicef, probenecid and pulses of flagyl wiht artemisin and una de gato. I feel like I have done very well but it feels like I've hit a plateau. I think I am up against some drug resistance- still sweating/cold/fatigue and some joint problems....drugs are playing havoc with my pancreas. By the way I have done high doses of vitamin D ( I don't believe in the Marshall protocol- but it can work for some)......

I used Dr. Zhang's herbs for 5 months after 2 months of doxy and 2 months of Ketek. I was feeling almost well when I started his herbs. Every month I continued to wax and wane with lyme symptoms but I had some symptoms that never went away. As a precaution against co-infection I tried to take the HH capsules for bartonella but it gave me insomnia so I quit it. Over the 5 months I took Ketek twice, once for two weeks and then again for one week because I felt I was relapsing. Finally the herbs seemed to quit working for me so I went to a LLMD for the first time who told me I also had bartonella and I am being treated for that with Levaquin and amoxy. Perhaps the herbs were not completely effective because of the bartonella, I don't know. The LLMD is in practise with a homeopathic doctor and he told me when you are ready for herbs, they should be rotated so you do not develop resistance to them. He prefers andrographis, cat's claw and teasel root for lyme. He gave me a herbal compound containing grapefruit seed extract for yeast.
Many people have had excellent results with Dr. Zhang's protocol. Others prefer the Cowden herbs.
Like I said before I believe the key is to rotate frequently. I still use Zhang's Herbsom which is the best herbal rememdy for insomnia I have ever found but I am developing a tolerance to it and it is much less effective than at first. Good luck! I am sorry that you have the disease but it is lucky for the lyme world that there will be another savvy doctor that understands how to correctly treat it.
