I got bit while on the job about
8 months ago. I was treated improperly at first so I got sicker.
Did some research and found a Lyme specialist (love her, she's great)
Worker's Comp has fought me every step because she is not a worker's comp doctor, threaten to deny my payments and would not pay for my visits to her. They wouldn't even pay for the Abx.
A couple of weeks ago I went to their required evaluation with a doctor that simply reviewed my case and made recommendations to Worker's Comp.
Luckily he said "sure, I realize that chronic Lyme is very real and that patients do require extended treatment and if you are seeing a Lyme specialist they should pay for it."
This week I got reimbursed and my abx were all paid for!
Don't give up hope and don't give up spreading the word -- some of the doctors are listening!
