I am new to this board, I have been being treated for lyme and babs for almost 1 year now I do notice improvement but the babs lab came back the same as when I started. oddly enough I have been treated w/ mepron and zithromax for months, and then iv clinda and quinine which seems to help me more with breathing problems. does anyone know if the breathing trouble will get 100% better its very annoying.anyways alittle more about me my little girl also has Lyme often wonder if I gave it to her, the baby I had before her died of sids did anyone every read anything about the 2. also will I ever know if I gave it to her? any suggestion would be great.

Babesiosis can be very difficult to eradicate. It is not unusual to treat it more than once. When you took Mepron and Zithromax, what were your doses? If the shortness of breath is from Babs, it should get better with treatment.

I am very sorry you lost a child to SIDS. I don't know if there is a connection between Lyme and SIDS. I believe that Lyme can cause miscarriages in some women.

I am sorry your daughter has Lyme. How old is she? Lyme can be passed through pregnancy and breastfeeding. I believe Babesiosis can also. Has she been tested for this? Is she currently being treated?

Below is a Lyme disease symptom list. You can have any combination of symptoms.

Unexplained fevers, sweats, chills, or flushing
Unexplained weight change--loss or gain
Fatigue, tiredness, poor stamina
Unexplained hair loss
Swollen glands
Sore throat
Testicular pain/pelvic pain
Unexplained menstrual irregularity

Are you being treated by a knowledgeable doctor? Were you tested for the other co-infections also: both types of Ehrlichiosis (HME & HGE), Bartonella, and Mycoplasma?

It is also important to learn as much as possible. I recommend reading Dr. Joseph Burrascano's 2008 Diagnostic Hints and Treatment Guidelines For Lyme and Other Tick Borne Illnesses at http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf He is one of the top Lyme doctors in the country, and many Lyme doctors follow his protocols. I also recommend the books "Everything You Need To Know about Lyme Disease Second Edition" by Karen Vanderhoof-Forschner and "The Lyme Disease Solution" by Kenneth B. Singleton MD.
