3625 , 20 years old...just got bitten...what abx shoud she be on asap?????

Now knowing so much about lyme as all of you do....if you had it all to do over again. What would you go on if you had gotten bitten yesterday?

I went on 400 mg of doxy twice a day. It did not work. And of course my blood work came back negative..from quest. did not know about ingenex then. Nor did I know that I ever had Bart. till Nov.

So if you have any words of advice for her...she is in college and gosh...woud like to finish I am sure.

Should she be on something like zithromax that covers more co infections?
I really do not know..
I did however help my lilly alot on amoxy
But I am alergic to it.

200 mgs of doxy for 30 days. Period. End of Lyme. End of story.

Hoping to Find Cure, Just curious, did 30 days of doxy get rid of your lymes.  I am newly diagnosed after 3 years of symptoms and put on 1000 mg. of amoxicillin.  Is doxy the only way to go?

They gave more to my dog Toto...who went Lame and died by the way.
I did doxy for ever...it did not work.
But amoxy 1,200 for my daughter lilly last summer...her like...4th time to get lyme during the summer.
And it go her much better. It kicked it.
But...she has problems with her legs sometime...like this morning..it is arthritis that flares up when she gets stressed.
But she did not get the depression....and all of the other bad stuff that I did. Guess because kids get over it easier that us old folks..
I couldn't remember the name of the other abx....
But keep hope...you are right.
It is Zithromax. It is the only abx envita gave me in my iv port. I had never had it before.
And that is also supposed to handle a wider amount of the disease's no?
Wish I had taken that from the beginning. I had no idea of what I had gotten myself into. But the amoxy did wonders on Lillly when she was 11 mos old too.
Then she could barely walk..or eat...and cried all the time...big dose of amoxy...finally...and she got well before my eyes....
She turned back into the healty daring baby.
But I did not get better.
And I am aleric to penn.
What was the combo that Dr. Bortnella..sp? took for his lyme? When while working with the lyme and dicovering it himself. He too got it.
He healed him self with two abx....I will have to look that up. Think it was in the "Cure Unkown"
