ADD meds for brain fog.

Am i the only one who takes an ADD med for brain for.

To me it is like taking a pain pill for my pain it doesnt cure me but it helps.

My brain was bad. And I cannot say enough for how much it helps. Its so exciting I remembered names, everything I was doing all my thoughts seemed to seemlesly flow together. You know when your thinking and you just loose a thought? Even when you may be talking and loose what you were originally getting at. Or I would read the same thing over and not retain it, or even read words before they came in the sentence or put words there that werent. Or tues this week I forgot my daughters checkup, because I have been off it for 10 days .
When I take it I cant seem to even loose a thought, even when I move on im still knowing where my previous thought was. It becomes seemless and that is so relaxing . I tell you its beautiful. I cant believe my promotion of ADD meds but it has been a miracle for me. And I can focus on one thing for a long time and then my people relations are so much more fruitful I can process correctly and resposively and analitically respond to them.
And finally another major kicker right to the ass of my major chronic fatigue. It gives me so much energy. I consider it as esential to the pain management from the pain pills I need brain management. and apparently it is all ok to take together. hmmmmmp I say try it give my a reason why not.

I was tried on an ADD drug about 2 years ago. I too had a good "brain function" reaction, but my body was in such bad shape I couldn't do anything with it. So my brain was wide awake but my body wasn't.

Please be careful on these type of drugs. I think in adults that can become addictive (but who cares when its working - haha). I too am going to ask for the ADD medication again and see if I can take it now to help get my body moving with my brain. I just want to use it for a few months and then see if my brain and body can just continue working without the drug. At least that the latest plan I've concocted in my brain.....

BUT as usual I may be back on a PICC line again and then I wouldn't want the ADD meds. It's all timing. I should know more by the end of June.

Yes, we are all so different and it's a shame these meds don't work well for all of us. I've tried most of the ADD meds and stimulants and Adderall works the best for me. It give me the energy I need to get out of bed when I need to make an appointment and does increase my response time but unfortunately does not improve my brain function much beyond that. I also experience a worsening of symptoms, especially fatigue, afterwards so I limit taking it to only when I absolutley need to which is about once every week or two. I think this happens because I'm pushing my body and brain beyond what it's truly capable of.

One of the first stimulants I tried when I first became ill was Provigil. The doctor at the time described to me as a clean stimulant with no bad side effects. I even think the air force uses it on a regular basis. Anyway, I read so many fantastic things about it and had such high hopes and the only thing it did was make me feel wired but still too exhausted to move, if that makes any sense. Then again, very little makes sense when it comes to what we experience. lol

It's trial and error for all of us and whatever works with the least amount of side effects for each of us is the answer - for the time being anyway.

Thank you so much for the compliment. I'm the same way. I cannot stand to see a child suffer. They are innocent and it is up to us to help them. I hated seeing her on medication and that's why I tried the natural route first. When that failed, I realized there was nothing else I could do. The medication really helped with her grades and she is the type of person that doesn't even have to study for a test and passes with flying colors....but only when she's on her meds. Her daddy has ADHD also and I prayed that she wouldn't have it, but that's the way the cards were dealt. I did the best I could with what I had. These diseases don't have answers. Even ADHD is hard to deal with.
