Are IV Abx always needed if your sx are primarily neurological?

Has anyone w/neuro sx just done orals?

What abx are best for this?

You could see if you respond to oral. You are having Ms like twitching. That is why I predict it may be nec

I have never had IV abx, only orals, and I'm not so sure that I shouldn't get on IV abx. I suffer a great deal with the neuro end of LD. Lovely muscle twitches, spasms & all. I have had fat lips, bruises on my lips, black eyes & that on my face alone.
If you also have these types of things going on, I would seriously consider the IV abx.
My opinion only!!

I have a lot of neuro symptoms too - currently I'm on oral antibiotics. I have an appointment coming up with a llmd and I'm not sure what the doc is going to put me on. I would go IV therapy if it helps me to get better.

I get confused and I'm embarrased to say but simple math seems to confuse me now. I sometimes start starring into space and don't even realize it until my husband asks me what planet I'm on. Also, when I'm at work I start a task and then I find myself sitting there starring at my computer not sure what I was doing. I'm so frustrated with this....I just finished taking classes and I studied for a test for five days and I could not remember nothing. It sucks so bad.

I know what you mean 3whiteroses & Lymekiller. I do those same things. Now I am starting to have problems with typing even. sad I'll be typing along (not very fast mind you) and I seem to have a muscle spasm in a finger - only it hits squarely on a key. I'm having other similar problems that lead me to believe signals are really getting crossed in my brain.

"Roses", there would be no way on earth that I would even try going to school, much less work. I'm really sorry to hear of your having this kind of trouble.

I have neurological symptoms too. I get movements in my fingers all the time, especially in my thumbs. I have muscle jerking and head jerking. My whole hand will sometimes fly up on it's own. I have muscle spasms and twitching. My bottom lip and chin sometimes moves or vibrates.

CG, does your chin feel as tho its hot. when its not hot to the touch?

I've never felt that. I do feel like my cheek is gonna go numb sometimes though. It always feels really weird and I have to touch it to make sure I can still feel it.

How are you doing today?

I get that symptom and more...a few times it has felt like cold water was dripping on me...I think I have every neuro sx in the book.

Brainfog is one of my worst sx. I feel as if I am in a dream almost 24/7. This gets worse with heat/stress/anxiety. I pretty much stopped talking even to people in my house because it's just angering for me when I say something and then two seconds later feel like I wasn't talking or wonder if I was. I also get tired of stuttering and stumbling over my words...feeling like there is a gap between my brain knowing something and my mouth actually saying it.

CG, not feeling to good right now. and i have no hope of getting better soon. how are you doing, i pray your treatment will help you. do a double for me will ya..lol

Jen, i found a list that had 12 nuero sx. out of the 12 i had 7. ugggggg

Here's the list of symptoms I came across that made me realize I had LD and needed to get to a llmd. I think I had 64 symptoms of the 76 listed. For some strange reason, I saved it. www.canlyme.com/patsymptoms.html

I took a quick look at the list you were referring to & I then printed it out so that I can use it to help show others here in my home town, with awareness & getting help for TBIs'. I'm sad to report that I have 74 of the 78 sx listed. Fortunately not all at once though!!!! And some of those sx are now diminished some following some treatments.
Unfortunately, I believe I now have, or have had almost all of the sx listed on that page - the whole chin or nose, or any other part of my body feeling like it's 1/2 numb or totally numb. I get that funny feeling of hot or cold liquid being poured on different parts of my body frequently. Funny part- I have a male dog & when that feeling starts on my lower leg or foot, the first thing that crosses my mind is that he just 'lifted his leg' on me!!!!! Poor guy!!! He has never done this, but the feelings are soooo very real!!!

I am frequently on another planet. Becoming hard to come back at all. I believe that is the same type of state alzheimers patients are in. that is just a reminiscent form. An echo of what will be.

I have all Nuero problems. They do show up as Lesions in my Brain. I have tested CDC positive 8 times from a few different labs. Some Drs call it Lyme and some MS. They did all go away after IV Rocephen. ANd then came back after stopping oral antibiotics.

So I will keep treating Lyme it worked once and it is goin to work again.

I believe I may be a case that needs antibiotics or herbs for ever.

I let them treat me for MS for a year with Avonex and Steroids and I tink that really messed me up.

All went away for 2 years now.
