I have excessive saliva.

Holiday from all meds and am wondering what's causing this.

do you have any problems with acid reflux ? - I had similar - ie; lots of saliva - it turned out I had some acid reflux - a drug called 'omeprazole' [in U.K.] - sorted it out for me.

Yes, I've had excessive saliva my entire life, as did my Father. I don't know if it's a Lyme symptom or something else. he did not have GERD. Acid-reducing medications (such as omeprazole) did not change the excessive saliva production for me, so I don't think GERD is the cause in my case.

ok. i hate analyzing EVERY little thing. And I hope someday I'm either totally in remission or sure enough that I'm not going too far in the other direction to accept all the stuff that gets thrown my way.

I know Lyme for 99% of us isn't fatal. But it sure impacts one's life in that there's always some petty annoying trivial thing.

Makes me want to cry.

Excess saliva is a symptom of toxicity. If you google it, you will even find it there. Any toxin, poison etc will cause excess saliva.  My golden retriever who had Lyme used to drool like a St. Bernard.   D

I take quart sized glass of water with about 2 capfuls of lemon juice & that really helps me with toxicity like you're talking about.

I went three years without being diagnosed and actually went to oral surgeon and dentist and complaint of excess saliva. Of course, they all told me I was crazy but I know I wasn't.

Hopingtofindacure, It's unbelievable how many symptoms this darn Lyme Disease causes. I'm only finding out now how many I experienced over the past 7-10 years were connected to LD. For me, it seems the least debilitating ones are clearing up first. Can you imagine how great we all would feel if a cure was found and all of our lyme associated symptoms cleared up.

Jelainep, Are you kidding? We are not putting up with you, we need you. You remind me of how I use to find humor in everything and always found something to laugh at. Laughter heals the soul and I know I can use more of it.

Jelaine that was really funny! I had this problem only one time and it was when I was feeling toxic.

I never thought to try spitting!!

Actually sometimes when I laugh I spit, so this could help Hoping!

I have a lot of saliva too. The dentist wears a mask and my saliva glands squirt him in the face. It is very embarrassing.

Syphilis can cause excess saliva production, so why not Lyme too?

shoot i have always spit. even had a guy come up to me once and said girl i like you, your cool and dont care you spit when waring a dress. i just told em i dont swollow...lol. no really its ture i have had this trouble for as many yrs as i can remeber. is it lyme i cant say. but it is embressing
