Anyone ever have hives and think it might be LD related?

I was just reading something from Under our skin website and the person reported having hives.  I was wondering if that is something that could be connected to LD.  When I was a teenager I had a very severe case of hives, my face and tongue swelled up.  It only happened that one time thank goodness!

I am prone to hives! I get them in the heat. I get them when I get facials. I just get them no matter what.

Probably nervous syndrome -- prone to immune disorders and therefore contract crap like this.

Once in a while I'll get a bump or two on my arms...I never thought of it as 'hives' until a couple of weeks ago. It gets extremely itchy and raised and is red all around. They're not all over but they show up randomly and I never have any explanation for it!

Quite a few years back, I had hives that covered my entire upper body. I also got hive after the birth of my children, and a couple of other times.

Right now I'm dealing with fungal infections on my feet & on my chest & shoulders. Fortunately they don't itch too bad!!!!

Ever since the LD adventure began, I have had rashes and hives and all kind of wierdo skin problems.  Right now I have 6 "blisters/hives" on my right arm that have been there for well over a year.  I have scars where other ones have "healed". 

Actually, the year prior to Lyme, I used to break out in all types of rashes at work... it began to be a departmental "joke" that Jennifer had to go get another shot for a "rash".  Once, I was trying to give one of my employees a 'not so good' annual review and I kept inching my back toward the back of the chair.... I start scratching and feeling warm.... I had broken out in a rash from my belly to the top of my head!!

When I say I have been to hell and back with this disease (in all sorts of situations, I am NOT kidding - haha!), I really mean it!

For the past few years, I was experiencing swelling in my lower lip that would come and go. The doctors told me it appeared to be an allergic reaction but couldn't figure out to what. When I started treatment with antibiotics the swelling became really bad and blistered. The doc did not know if it was a herx or allergic reaction to the meds. It ended up being a herx and I haven't had much swelling since.

It's unbelievable how many seemingly unrelated symptoms end up being connected to Lyme Diseae.


Jelainep, I want to hear your Lyme Rage story. lol

My ex imitates me when I'm having a hissy fit and I swear he makes me laugh so hard it hurts.

When I moved to a rural area with lots of deer roaming past my front door, I got a severe case of hives that ended up over my entire body for quite a long time.  I didn't realize it at the time, but believe I got lyme disease then.  Hives are notorious for being hard to find the cause from, but the timing sure is suspicious.  I, too, have heard of other cases of hives from lyme, so now I am thinking that lyme caused my hives.

I read one women's story and she attributed her hives to LD.  I have never heard of hives being related to LD, but when I read that a lightbulb went off.  I thought back to when I was about 15 and had a severe, life threatening case of hives.  It happened just that one time, and the doctor had no idea what caused it.

I found a tick behind my ear when I was 14. I started getting hives around the same year and had them almost everyday for 30 years! Doctors had no idea why but it seems that the tick and hives must have been related. I never was checked for lyme disease.
