I feel like I can't get enough air when I talk a lot. I also have the dry cough that comes and goes. When I think about
it, it gets worse so part of me thinks it is a bit of anxiety. I am on mepron so I don't know if it could be related to babs symptoms. Although I tested negative. It is annoying.

Thanks for responding. I am starting my 16th week of mepron/zithro. The first 6 weeks were bad but more pain and back of head and neck stuff. The second 6 weeks I started getting eye infections when I was herxing and now I have started with the cough and not being able to get enough air symptom.
Do symtoms change like this? Like I said I never tested positive for babs but I wonder if that is what I am dealing with, too. I have felt the worst on this combo but when I do have good days they have been really good. Who knows I just hate feeling like this it is so awful!

This happens to me too...I also used to wonder if it was anxiety, but now I know it's just worse when I'm anxious...I hate it because it's one of the very visible symptoms...taking a deep breath once I stop talking!

It happens to me too, usually when I'm either walking or talking. I'm pretty sure for me it's not from anxiety. Just one more symptom we can add to our long lists. lol

I'm not happy that you all suffer with it, too but it is nice to know I'm not alone. Thought it was my heart or something but all those tests (EKG) came back perfect. Hmmm

One day I started to experience chest pain and the thought that I was having a heart attack crossed my mind but I was too exhausted to do anything about
it. I knew if I called anyone (friends, family, doctor) they would tell me to call 911 and get to the ER immediately. I didn't have the energy to deal with any of it and decided to go to sleep and hope for the best. I thought if it's my heart and I didn't wake up then I wouldn't have to deal with finding a way to get better. I took my chances and I'm still here and kicking and hopefully on my way to getting better. LOL I know it sounds terrible but my friends and I laugh about
how I made the decision to take nap rather than possibly save my own life. Thankfully, I never had chest pains again.

My air hunger never goes along with chest pains. Before treatment I used to get pin-prick pain in my heart area. I actually kept this info from my doc for awhile I was afraid of what it might be. It came back very severe when I first started mepron but went away. Thank god. I hate all this stuff that freaks us out.

It's all so strange. Now that you mention it I've had pin-prick pain in my chest also. It's so weird because once my symptoms go away I tend to forget I ever had them. That is until they come back which they usually do. lol

Let's hope those pin prick feelings stay away for both of us. That one used to really scare me. I read somewhere it was nerve endings? I want to forget that one for good!

Lovelabs, air hunger is another hallmark symptom of Babesiosis. It sounds like the Mepron is stirring things up.

Thanks Ticker...I think I have a lot to discuss with my LLMD this month. So you think you can have babs with a negative test and symptoms of it don't surface until you are in treatment for it? Seems like this is what could be happening to me.
I hate all this guessing.

Hi Lovelabs. Yes, I do think you can have symptoms of Babs without testing positive for it. Since you are getting different hallmark Babs symptoms during treatment, to me it sounds like you have it.
