I would like to say Hello and introduce myself.


I am one of the new mods here on the forum, and have had Lyme for 3 years now.

I am still in treatment, for the past 2.5 yrs.  I am currently about 80%, although still have some rough days!

I live in Florida, married with two adult children, two boxers and four cats.

Please feel free to drop me a line with any questions or concerns.

I look foward to continuing the great job Alfers has done!

Thank you all for the warm welcome. And right back at ya CajunGrl!

I did mostly oral therapy. Did a very short round of IV, until I had an allergic reaction.

Have not been on any Lyme meds since end Dec., although may need to start up again to try and get over the hump. Have yet to decide.

My Igenex had positive Lyme bands, although overall it was Negative.

It took me about 1 year before I started to feel better, two years before the fatigue lifted..although I still have stamina issues. Although now I can stay up past 6PM :)

I guess my main complaints are muscle pain in arms and back, jaw pain, some chest pain, stamina issues and heat intolerance at this point, which is ALOT less than I had 2.5 years ago!  Put them all together and there are days you just feel plain ole crappy!

However, I have Hashi's as well, as we are not sure which is causing what at this point...

Congrats to you! Cab I ask you what are you taking for your Hashi's and how much? I ask because I also have Hashi's and have been on 60 mg of Armour but have increased it recently because of 30 lb. weight gain in less than a year that is not due to food. Just curious

I have been on Armour, but not doing so well with it since they changed their formula. Many I know have switched over to NatureThyroid and are doing much better again.

I also am pretty sure we have to address the adrenals. I have put that off since I did not want to start HC...but may have to give in.

I too had some issues with weight, we found that I was also Insulin Resistant, which I guess can be pretty common with Hashi's. So, just started Metformin for that and in the past 3 weeks have dropped 7 lbs which I am THRILLED for!

Is Natures thyroid a prescription. Is that exactly what it is called?

There are also natural supplements you can take for your adrenals and your thyroid. I take 60mg of Thyro complex and 200mg of Adrenal cortex. My doctor looked at the ingredients in the Thyro Complex and said it was almost the same as Armour Thyroid. I was on Armour prior to starting the supplement. I feel a whole lot better. By the way, I have Hashis too.

I used to get into ALOT of trouble because of 'CUSSING'..... but I've managed to work around it!...... I'm glad you're taking the time to be a Forum person!
