ok, so my back has been killing me over the last 5 days. My foot has hurt a bit for the last 3 or 4, but then within 2 hours my foot got to the point where its hurtiing so bad i can't even walk on it barely. Can I take alieve, or should I not take anti-inflamatories, what can i take ? lol, i thought I would be getting better not worse.

Hi zizziz.  It should be okay to take an anti-inflammatory.  What helps me the most is Advil Liquid Gels, but I have never tried Aleve.  When treating Lyme, it is normal to feel worse before feeling better.

I hope the pain eases up for you soon.

zizziz, I believe I've read that people with LD should not take anti-inflammatories.  What i've seen some people recommend is Stinging Nettle.  Buhner mentions this in his book Healing Lyme.  Hope this helps.

isnt the anti in flamatories thing what you shouldnt take while on steroids like prednisone?

zizziz, I know that people with LD are not suppose to take steroids at all, but I think what I read was also referring to over the counter anti inflatories too. KO

My LLMD told me that it was okay to take an anti-inflammatory. I've taken them several times and it actually makes me feel a little better.
