I'm always twisting to crack my back and my hip. My hip gives me alot of trouble and aches real bad if I don't crack and stretch it. By doing this, I think I somehow pulled my sternum because it is very tender to touch and it hurts when I breathe in deep. I noticed when I went to get up in the bathtub, that I was short of breath and my sternum and left side above my breast felt like it was pulling. I was wondering if anyone else has ever had this?

Cajun, I have something like that called costochondritis. I did get checked out first by my doctor but this does affect people with fibro and, since many of the same symptoms occur with Lyme, you could have this. I did a google check and, yes, Lyme people can get costo, too. Here is a link from the Mayo Clinic all about
it. Hope this helps you and alleviates your fears.

Thanks Sherrine. I've had Costochondritis for years now. I just healed from a flare a month or two ago. Geez! I guess when I twisted, I injured it again beings it is always very tender anyway.
What do you do to relieve the pain?
Btw, thanks so much for the link:)

I would think Homeopathic Ruta would be helpful for this type of condition.
I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Razzle. Where would I get that? Do you know what's in it?

I looked it up and it looks like it has alot of benefits but it also says it can bring on a menstrual cycle. Oh no! I don't want that to happen. I take the Depo shot to stop it, lol.
It looks like it's good for pain as well.

I hope you find the answer and what you need to heal your pain. When muscles are weak they are easily irritated and injured. Have you tried arnica? There are gels, cremes and sublingual tablets. It is for pain and helps to heal the muscles or even bruises.
Maybe I should take Ruta though just to bring on the menstration. I guess it is just the phase of life that I am in - perimenopause. I seem to have a cycle, but instead of monthly, it's every three months and I can feel it coming for a couple weeks at a time. My PMS is not nearly what it used to be, but it seems to be longer in duration.

Most doctors, including mine, have you use ibuprofen for it and it does help me.

I've taken Ruta many times and have never had it bring on a menstrual cycle. I think the low doses available in health food stores are too low to do something like that to most people.
I get most of my homeopathic remedies at a local health food store. If I find I need a remedy not sold locally, I order it from abchomeopathy.com (I have no financial connections with this website/company).
Homeopathy pellets are sugar pills upon which the energy of the original substance is imprinted. Ruta is a plant (Ruta Graveolens). There are no preservatives, and most people, even those who are allergic to milk or lactose intolerant, have no problems tolerating homeopathy. If you want to avoid the small amount of sugar, there are liquid tinctures (alcohol-based) available online.
Take care,

Turquoise: I only wish mine was every three months! Mine was so bad every month that I'd nearly pass out. I'd sleep all the time too. I had no energy. It drained me so much. I really don't like putting poison in my body like that to stop my cycles but I just don't know what else to do right now. I've tried supplements to get it back to normal but that didn't work either.
Sherrine: Thanks hun:)
Razzle: Thanks for all of the great info. I may just try it out to see if it helps. When my ribs flare up, it can get pretty painful.

I get a cracking sensation in my sternum when I lay down at night and take a deep breath - expand diaphragm/ribs - I am clicking/cracking all over the place at the moment!!
