drenching sweat at night

i had alot of drenching night sweats this last feb, march and april. (i would have to change the sheets) It was wierd, this is before i knew about lyme.. i have no idea what causes it, but i haven't really had any bad spells since then....

I'm sorry your son is going through that. I have night sweats too and babesia causes it. I pray your son doesn't have this. Did he have any positive bands on his test?

Get a copy and see if any bands are positive just to be sure. Did a regular doctor do this or an LLMD?

A Quest WB test will say 'positive' or 'negative', however, it will still report on some of the bands only, some of which are specific to Bb. And it will report many other bands which are not significant

So you really should consider requesting copies of those tests because we can help you note if there are significant reactive bands. Of course, we cannot make the diagnosis, but can maybe help to guide you in the right direction.

I got a copy of my sons tests (from quest) They seem to just say neg. for bart. And neg for Lyme. I do not see any type of bands on them it says igg, and igm neg. 0.90 index neg. unless they did not send me everything.

I know that they dont test all the bands I just thought that there would of been something. I guess I could try to call them. I know I need to use Igenex I just dont have the extra 200$

I know!! Why does it have to be so hard? I dont even know what to do any more!!

Good catch! That's what it looks like to me too. I wish they would throw the Elisa out altogether.

After speaking with my sons doctor and lab, I was able to go today and have a western blot done (no Elisa this time). I made sure it was the westernblot that they ordered. So I will keep my fingers crossed! Using a different lab this time.

Lyme is passed through the placenta. Also through breast milk...but little boys are in the highest % of people getting infected 5-12, becuase they play ourside. So don't blame yourself.
My 6 year old has gotten it many times as well.
But the bed sweats...yes very common with lyme. I only had lyme and bart. And I would get so wet and wake up soaked and freezing.
But most of the times the bed was really damp...and there was like a ring around where I slept.
I would have his blood sent to IGENEX and check for co-infections as well. Just so you know what you are up against.
Also...get a cool easy to use thermometer, the ones that you put in the ear. And check that before he goes to bed.
Also...get a note book and everytime you notice something...write it down and date it.
Also pay close attention to what he says....little stuff...like his legs hurt....tired...trouble sleeping..
And be very careful about other signs such a trouble in school....cognitive problems. Sort of gazing...
Or as simple as him resting his head on his desk at school.
It is the little things...that all add up to one big problem.
