Self medicating

Can you contact the original prescribing physician and ask for an extension of the medicine? I would try that first.

Get yourself some Colladial Silver and take big doses of vit C and zinc.
The bacteria does not protect itself from the silver like it does with abx. And the vits are to help your immune system fight this thing.
Don't drink anything but water..and take it easy.
Doxy did not make me better either and I took it for 60 days. But I think that I got lyme every summer that I was in the vineyard..living in my garden. I was not aware of it before.

Can you go to your local GP and explain the situation?  You might have to educate them on what Lyme is, and that you need an extension of the Antibiotics to make sure you eradicate it.  If that does not work, and I hate to say this, but you can order Doxycycline off of the internet.  I would normally not advise someone to do that.  But if you speak with your GP and they are unwilling to help, that might be an option.  Good luck.

I just called the clinic I visited just for some questions and they said that they don't recommend more than 30 days of abx because the disease was caught so early. They said to just monitor my symptoms and watch for flu-like symptoms. But I read everywhere that 30 days is not enough. So should I just find a way to continue the meds for, say, another 2 weeks to be on the safe side? Again my treatment is 200mg doxy/600mg omnicef daily.

Also, they got my lab results but western blot came back negative (it was too early anyway, just a few days after the bite) and the white blood cells level normal so they don't suspect any co-infection.

But should I just try to get a script for another 2 weeks of meds?

Hey guys, I don't want to put a damper on this subject but I'm asking you all to maybe email each other on the self medicating. It is illegal to purchase any medication without a prescription in the US. Thanks!
