Hey I'm new... I was just diagnosed on August 26th. I never knew about a tick bite. My doctor said that I could have had this for a while and it just started manifesting itself because I got mono last year in february. I was misdiagnosed as having Epstein-Barr Virus.

I'm just glad that there are forums like these where we can talk.

I'm so sorry you had to find us this way but you have definitely come to the right place. The members here are great and very knowledgeable.

Are you currently being treated by an LLMD(Lyme Literate Medical Doctor)?

I looked it up on her site but it didn't show anything. She seemed to know a lot though.
She had my blood tested with the western blot using the CDC one and the IGeneX one.
I had positives in 31 kDa, 41 kDa, and 58 kDa in the IGeneX one.

...and I'm starting on a 13-month course of doxycycline (100 mg twice a day).

Just so you know, the recommended dose for Doxy is at least 400mg. You may want to read the site I have posted below:

Also, read the paragraph below:

Dosage

Increasingly, clinicians recommend that certain drugs used for Lyme disease be given at higher daily doses: for example, 3,000–6,000 mg of amoxicillin, 300–400 mg doxycycline, and 500–600 mg of azithromycin. Some clinicians prescribe antibiotics using blood levels to guide higher doses. Close monitoring of complete blood counts and chemistries are also required with this approach.
