After three and a half+ rough years, I have been on amox for 6 months and doxy for all of two weeks.  I feel the best I have in 4 years.  No headaches for two weeks after having one daily for three+ years.  Still have some joint and muscle pain as well as some other lingering small problems, but overall fatigue, anxiety, etc. better.  Dr. says after one more month, I'll be "fine."  Is this possible? 

Also, is it also possible that a large part of my symptoms were due to high erlichosis titers.  Mine were 1:320.  I understand erlichosis is very treatable with doxy. 

In addition, for women, after being told my symptoms were from menopause for 4 years and the cessation of menstration, it has now returned with feeling better.  Dr. says probably wasn't menopausal but body shut down from disease and is now recovering.  Has anyone had this happen???

I do believe it is possible to completely recover from chronic Lyme/coinfections. There are some here who graciously still post even though they have recovered - such as Deejavu, but there are others.

Yes, Ehrlichia is known to mess with blood cells, which could have stopped your monthly cycle.

Also, malnutrition, stress, and other things can mess with the monthly cycle. Sometimes I skip a month, other times I get 2 in one month or spot a long time before and/or after. And I've noticed the irregularity is usually worse when I feel worse.

Springsjean, I do not know much about erlichosis except that it is one mean infection. My dogs foster mother and her husband were extremely ill from it and had to be hospitalized.

I have GOT to believe it is possible to fully recover from LD and coinfections. Sounds like you and your dr. knew what you were up against and dealt with it relatively quickly (ISN'T THAT AN UNBELIEVEABLE STATEMENT? 3 YEARS OF ILLNESS AND CALLING IT A "RELATIVELY QUICK" RECOVERY???)... AND effectively. I too have had "pre"menapausal symptoms and I've had LD from age 35 to now, 44. And I think that the majoriy, if not all, of my "periphreal" problems will resolve once my LD is cured..... like, major depression, anxiety, body ache, fatigue, fibromyalgia, memory, etc.

I'm envious - lol! But very happy for you. Stay on the abx's as prescribed, tried to get some physical rehab and if you even think you're backsliding, contact your dr. and get right back on th abxs!!! It sounds like our on the right track. One of my dreams is to be able to post something like that here on this site... along with something like "Just completed my 10th full Marathon, in Antartica, and so I'm just checking in" - OK, that is ME be a complete smart @*&!
