odd pain

Was just wondering if any one has had this. It is hard to explain but I will try. Yesterday I happened to touch my finger and it hurt really bad. I thought that when I looked down at it,there would be a bruise, but there was nothing!! It only hurt when I touched it. after a day it was gone. I have had it before in other places to. But there is never a bruise, and the places only hurt when i touch them. Any one have any ideas???

happens to me often mainly on my back. My rheumy told me it is al related to my ra and lupus.

Could well be fibro, but both my Lyme doctor and neurologist (who have no affiliation whatsover) are starting to believe fibro is a disease/diagnosis of exclusion that is REALLY some sort of underlying bacterial or viral infection that has yet to be discovered. Don't get me wrong, I have been diagnosed with fibro and have the kind of pain you describe in all 18 fibro points, and the pain is very real. But I have had that kind of sensation elsewhere in my body.

I just learned Friday I have a neuropathy I had previously known nothing about called "small fiber peripheral neuropathy." Do a Google search on it. Much like my Lyme doctor (who listened to me and picked apart my symptoms and medical history), my neurologist knew before my EMG and skin biopsy that I had the disease, and that he has other patients complaining of very similar symptoms and pain patterns. And another interesting similarity is that it was brought on initially by some sort of triggering virus (in my case, EBV) or bacterial infection. It is a sort of autoimmune disorder when your body attacks these small fiber nerves (those closest to your skin) and is trying it's best to find and rid your body of the underlying infection. But like my Lyme doctor has said, Lyme (and I suspect EBV) is a very smart organism that masks itself while feasting off the host and keeping it alive and MISERABLE.
