Plaquenil side effects or herx.?

Well on the third night I had night sweats mostly around my neck area, then again on the 8th 9th and 10th day also brain fog is really bad and head pressure is alot worse. I feel extremely anxious, fatigued and out of it.

If this is a herx then that means that I have babesia for sure? or does plaquenil also treat LD?

I really hope that this is not just side effects.......

I am up to 1/2 plaquenil two times a day now.

Before I read your whole post, I was going to ask you if you had Babesia because of the night sweats. It sounds like a herx to me but make sure to let your doctor know.

CG, I think it's a herx also but i'm not posative. I have a pone consult with my LLMD on mon. I have a feeling she will think the same thing.

When I was suffering from babesiosis, the nights sweats were profuse (as in PJ's wet, pillow wet, sheets wet) and were also often head to toe.

spaztick, do you still have babesiosis? If not how did you get rid of it?

Hi georgiagirl,

I tested positive for babesiosis microti per Igenex Western Blot (IgM/IgG) in Jan/08. I was Rx'd Mepron + Zithromax for 15 weeks (almost 4 months). Thinking the babs was eradicated, my LLMD then Rx'd an oral abx combo to treat the Lyme.

about 6 months later, due to the return of symptoms my LLMD attributed to babs (profuse night sweats, low-grade fevers, nausea, etc.), I was Rx'd Mepron + Zithromax which I took for 6 full months. Thereafter, I went on a different oral abx combo to treat the Lyme.
