Just lost my Aunt to her battle with cancer.

It makes you grateful to have lyme disease when you watch a loved one pass away from cancer. To my aunt who battled for 3 years. You showed me what it means to never give up on yourself and to fight until the bitter end. You were so strong and an inspiration in my own life. You never gave up and neither should we.

I'm so very sorry that you lost your Aunt...  Yes, losing someone does put things in a different perspective.

My husband just lost his uncle 3 weeks ago to lung cancer. His battle only lasted 6 months and he was so young. To lost 2 in less than 3 weeks is too much. Cancer is a nasty disease.

Sorry for the loss of your aunt and your husband's uncle. That is a lot to take in a short time and so close to the holidays on top of it all. I lost a friend to cancer last January. I felt that I learned a lot about faith and endurance through her. I recently heard about a woman who was bitter and hurtful to a friend close to her, up to the end. That to me is even more sad.

It has been very hard and a very sad time. Instead of enjoying this time of the month, we are gearing up for services and a lot of tears shed. I know she is in a better place and never gave up until the very end which is a lesson I take with me in my own life.

I'm sorry for your loss. I know exactly what you are feeling - I lost a good friend and an uncle last week - their services were a day apart. That was too much and I was drained emotionally. Then this week a former co-worker died! All from cancer...it sucks.

I am so very sorry. Lost my best friend to breast cancer three years ago. I still remember when the dr told her the end was near. She just kept saying "but I'm only 34". Cancer sucks. There is an excellent forum for those who have lost a spouse. www.ywbb.org
My friend's husband found great comfort there from people who truly understand the loss of a spouse.

wow. I am 34 and I couldn't even imagine going through what cancer can do to you. My aunt was 62 but up until the very end she kept saying no, I don't want to go. She left behind 3 grandkids all under 20 months so that's the hardest part for all of us. Having a 21 month old myself, it is hard to imagine her grandparents not being here to see her grow up.
