Why am I doing this to myself? I saw the LLMD. I am confident in their knowledge yet I am scared to start the lyme regime they assigned. I am currently on doxy 200 mg/day.

I was prescribed the following:

Doxy 300 mg/day

Zithromax 500mg

plaquenil

I think I am afraid it will make my stomach sick and I won't be able to work. Does anyone have experience with these meds? What was your reaction?

I've been able to work for three years through treatment, and yes I was really sick some times, but I really don't have a choice.

MtM, don't be afraid, you've been waiting for this diagnosis right? Praying to get an answer, you have one now. I already have gut issues, so this oral antibiotic thing is not working for me at all! I think I'm going to ask about injections, I'll take the pain if it doesn't effect me gut and colon like it does orally. You have start somewhere right? You can do it, you want to feel better. You may feel worse at first, but just know you will get better. Hugs. Linda

Not everyone reacts to abx the same way. I was on a triple combo and did fine for 2 years that way.

On new abx, I find that starting on the weekend (Sat.) is good. That way if you have a spouse or someone living with you, they are there in case you have an allergic reaction or if the abx makes you feel like poo...you do not have to work and can just kinda lay around if need be.

We all have to "bite the bullet" and start...You may suprise yourself and do quite well with this new combo!

Make sure to take your probiotics. That will help your gut tremendously. You may also want to eat little something before taking your antibiotics.
