Has anyone had problems with insurance companies denying meds?

My LLMD prescribed zithromax 500 mg to be taken daily. So....30 pills. My insurance company approved 3. What am I going to do with 3?

How have you all handled situations like this?

I upped my doxy as prescribed and started the probiotic but now have to wait for the doc to contact the insurance co.

This happened to me with another drug. Although i am not familiar with zithromax, I was able to call my insurance company and ask them for drugs that were similar to what I was prescribed that were covered at the dosage I needed. They were actually very helpful.

Alot of Brand Name meds are not covered under insurance. I also take zithromax and the generic for that is Azithromycin.
