Is there an LLMD in Milwaukee, WI???

I just received this email from my ex. We were together for 6 months, beginning when I started treatment for Lyme (Jan 09 - Jul 09). The symptoms he is describing, (ie, his sudden constant fasciculations), aren't exactly the same as mine, so I was wondering if any of you have had them with lyme? Also, he is from Milwaukee, and wanted to know if there is an LLMD there that he can see if this next neuro doesn't have any answers.

Also, do any of you know for sure if Lyme can be transmitted sexually? Thanks.

So a couple months ago the muscles in my calves started to twitch non-stop. Both legs. At first I couldn't feel it, I could only see it. Since then it has spread. My entire body is twitching. My face, my arms, my shoulders, chest, back, and stomach. None of those are twitching full time, but the calves and now my legs above my knees are. I am constantly fatigued. The other day I had to do a bunch of work around the house and by the time I was done I could barely stand up.

I have seen both my primary care doctor and the psychiatrist that prescribed my ADD meds. Both saw me several times while the symptoms got worse. They both felt they couldn't help and I should see a specialist so I have been seeing a neurologist. Originally he thought I had ALS. He was pretty convinced in fact. He sent me for an EMG and that came back negative for ALS thankfully. They can see/hear the fasciculations but it's not a nerve conduction issue. My neurologist ordered a ton of blood work tests to see if I had heavy metal poisoning or any several vitamin/mineral deficiencies that could/would account for the symptoms. Everything came back negative. He's now referring me to another neurologist at the medical college who specializes in movement disorders. Basically nobody has any clue what's going on.

I'm writing because of your experiences with Lyme. While doing research on my symptoms Lyme is one of the things that keeps coming up. I have not mentioned this to any of my doctors because of all the drama surrounding it. I'm letting them try and find their own answers. But if they continue to not have answers I'd like to have a possible answer to provide them.

Additional info: This weekend while out of town I got sick. Spiked a fever, got really sick. Turned out I had a sinus infection and possible bronchitis. I am on antibiotics for 2 days and haven't seen any difference in my fasciciulations. In fact they're probably worse today, which would fit as it's gotten consistently worse.

Yes, there is a LLMD in Fond du lac, WI if he wants to drive. I was just DX'd by Dr. M.

Have your old BF google Fox Valley Wellness Center in that area. He will find who I'm talking about.

Caution him there is a 8 week lead-time  1st. appt. and he is out of network. However he has been treating for 37 years and knows his stuff.

I am sorry you and your ex are suffering from illness. I hope you are both able to get all the help you need and that your recoveries are swift and complete.

I believe that sexual transmission is possible. The subject is controversial and more studies need to be done. The lyme spirochete is related to the spirochete that causes sexually transmitted syphilis. If I can find an article about the topic, I will post it.

If your ex does have lyme, he may also have caught it on his own, not just from you. It is suspected, and being researched, that not only ticks spread lyme, but fleas, mites, mosquitos and biting flies, too. It is in all the states of the USA and many continents of the world.
