Need your opinion please.

My IVs: 4 months on rocephin, 2.5 months on Zithromax, finishing up 30 days of Flagyl.

A couple of oral meds for bartonella and bebasia.

In the past week or so, I have been feeling so many of the stabbing pains in my fingers and toes.  In the past few days, I've noticed that now and then, when I speak, complete garbage comes out, where I might have to try several times before I get the words.  It's sporadic.  My mind feels slower- I just don't know how to describe.

Why is this happening now?  Is this a herx and could a herx take this long to come on after this long of a period of antibiotics?

I worry because my doctor said we should take me off the IV soon.  Am I ready?  How will I know if I'm ready?

Well, these stabbing pains I had before starting treatment, but they went away and now they've returned. I have definitely seen improvement- no more swollen joints, no longer painful to climb stairs, but these stabbing pains are annoying. So, I guess I should mention this to my doctor. Maybe I need another month of Flagyl. Do you know if one month would be enough or would longer be more appropriate. Now that I think about it, the stabbing pains have started a couple of weeks after adding Flagyl.

What do you recommend as a detox bath? How long? My tub it tiny, so I can't completely submerge- does that matter? My knees and chest stick out of water :) Should I submerge my head? Thanks CajunGrl :)

When I went on oral Flagyl apart from the awful herx, a lot of different symptoms including speech got a little worse. It seemed that the cyst-breaking power of Flagyl made for a lot of mess in my brain and spinal cord.

Do let your doc know what's going on next visit so that you get long enough treatment.
