Can anyone tell me what is the cause of the ringing in my right eat. It not the high pitch ring but more like a refrigerator ringing. Why is it more than other times. why do i get a break sometimes. I can't figure out what I AM doing or NOT doing
that I notice its'a back.
Of course I notice more at night but I can hear it over the TV?

I'm wondering if it is a mineral or vitamin?? what am I NOT taking? does it mean protien??

It does tone down at times and i can't figure what triggers it....only right side

Known Lyme symptom; may be due to herxing...

Make sure you're getting enough zinc...apparently the ears need zinc.

I got the ringing(more of a rattling sound) in both ears after being on zithromax and mepron. It got quieter after I stopped but hasn't gone away. I also got another noise in my ear(who knew there could be more than one?) after trying a computer based rife machine one time, and it hasn't gone away either. Let us know it the zinc works for you, I hope it does.

I have the ringing in my ears and it is worse sometimes than others.  Seems to be the worst at night.  I know it is a lyme symptom, but my LLMD says that the ringing can also be caused by toxins irritating the nerves in the ears.  My understanding is that apparently since the nerves in the ears are tiny they can be easily irritated by stuff like toxins.

I haven't found anything that I can tell helps.  My dr swears that burbur helps with the toxins...I can't tell, but I keep taking it b/c she believes it does :-)

I have had the ringing in my ears for many years now. It's worse at some of the weirdest times, bedtime of course, but I have also noticed that it can be worse when I use a heating pad (or other electrical devices such as my cell phone, or even the microwave oven) around my neck/shoulder region. When I am already feeling bad & need to go to the grocery store (although it doesn't happen every time I go to the stores), sometimes the ringing becomes more than I can bear - both in pitch & loudness- and I now know I have to just get out of those stores. For me it has had nothing to do with abx, as I have spent much more time off of abx in the last few years than on.

I would suggest that you try to find anything that may activate - or worsen the tinnitis, and then it's simple avoidance of these things when you are already having issues, or are just feeling bad.

Tinnitus has so many causes and it's rare when the cause is found.

Mine came on 3 months after my first bout of vertigo. I had (have) lyme and or lupus (the jury is still out) and never had any tinnitus while sick, it was only after the vertigo.

What helps me is to take calcium/magnesium daily. When the inflammation in my body is high, it gets worse.

I have tinnitis, off and on....I have so many health issues God only knows which one is causing the ringing. sad

Maybe I should look into some of the suggested remedies (zinc?)
