IV Treatments for chronic/persistent Lyme

Hi,
My name is Maya and I was diagnosed with Lyme disease. I was originally diagnosed in September 2009, took medication, but due to stomach issues, apparently I was not able to digest it. my doctor rechecked and now my Lyme is Chronic. I am unable to digest any tablets, pills, and other formed medications due to complications of colon removal surgery 2 years ago. I had liquid Vibromicin, but apparently it did not work. My symptoms gotten worse, and now it is effecting my muscles, bones, and even neurologically. I am so sick and fatigued, that I can only go to school and back home. I am in college. I am still waiting for the Lyme disease specialist to get back to me and I will be having IV treatments for it. I was wondering if there are any side effects from these treatments. I really appreciate this help. I am so glad that I have found this site.

One side effect of IV abx can be gallbladder issues. If your Dr. goes the IV route, make sure you are taking something to help protect your gallbladder!

thanks all for the help. I am seeing a Lyme clinic doctor on April 2, but have to wait for any treatment, due to school issues. I am so glad and thankful for the help. I will keep you all updated.
