Looking for a new LLD in Southeaster PA or DE should I try an infectious disease doc or waste of tim

Hope someone can give me a name of a doctor other that the one I used in West Chester PA. I'm not knocking him, but I don't think he was the right doctor for me. And I can't use the doctor in Kennett Square PA because he doesn't take insurance and I can't afford to pay out of pocket.

Sorry I don't have the name of a doc in your area, but I would suggest you stay away from ID docs. Although there are a few out there (somewhere) that understand the nature of Lyme & co's, there are even more who don't have a clue. So sorry to narrow down your choices, but it's better to know that most ID docs will be as much help as a wall, before you go through making appts & taking the time to get to the appt.

hopegirl, email me and I'll give you links to where you can find LLMD. Not very many, if any, LLMD's will take insurance now a days. Just the sad reality of life with lyme. Like someone else said, "lyme disease is the rich man's disease". Who can afford it? If I had the money, and enough influential people to join me, I'd clamp down hard on CDS, IDSA, AMA and the insurance industry. We've been screwed royally because no one wants to face the reality of how serious and wide spread this disease is.

Sorry to get on my soap box. Send me an email and I'll send you some links that will lead you to LLMD's in your state or nearby states. And, as Traveler said, avoid ID docs like the plaque!

I live in South East PA and was only able to find Infectious Disease doctors that would take my insurance. They seem to leave a person with a lot of symptoms to just live with. I travel to New Jersey for someone who does not take insurance, but it's only once every six weeks. I am nearing a full recovery, so it was worth it. Good luck.
