After reading Gary's (username gwb on Lymenet) thread/posts about the Hansa Center on Lymenet and talking to a lady there at the center, I'm very impressed with them. Thus, I'm now trying to make arrangements to get there to the center to be seen by them soon.

I really don't want to go there all by myself. So, is there anyone here that wants to go and be seen there with someone soon too? Or is there anyone here that has already made arrangements to go and be seen there who wouldn't mind changing their dates to be seen there to go with someone? I know, I'd just feel alot better having someone there with me going through the same thing.

I'm sure we could offer each other alot of support too though, while we're being seen there, which would be so nice. We could also share lodging expenses, in order to make our stay there, while we're being seen there, a bit more affordable, if you're interested. I'm very willing to share a hotel room with someone, to cut the two week lodging costs in half.

Right now, under their pilot program, for two people to go and be seen there on the same dates, there are only two dates left in April. That means, in order for us to take advantage of the substantial savings their pilot program offers, we'd have to make some pretty quick arrangements, if we were to decide to go and be seen there together on the same dates.

There are several things you can do to find out more about them.

1. Do a search here for posts about them, as well as Gary's (username "gwb") posts.

2. Go to flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi? and do the same as #1.

3.  Go to www.mdjunction.com/forums/lyme-disease-support-forums and do the same as #1.

4. Go to www.hansacenter.com, which is their website.

5. Contact them - see #4 for their contact info.

6. Go to www.amazon.com and search for the book Beating Lyme Disease: Living The Good Life in Spite of Lyme (2nd Edition) by Dr. David A. Jernigan for reviews. It's the book he wrote about them.

I was thinking about going but I have so much going on in my life right now. I am considering trying it at home and if it doesn't work, then I may consider going in. If you do decide to go, good luck! I think you've made a great decision.

That's too bad you can't go with me. I'm so sorry. I really wish you could.

I still haven't found anyone yet, so if you can think of anyone, please let me know ASAP. I would be very grateful.

Good luck trying it at home. I think you'd have better results if you went there though, because they do specific therapies/treatments, which tell you exactly what your body does and doesn't need. It takes the guesswork out of what to do/take.

I have so many bottles of different prescriptions and supplements I've tried, which haven't worked for me. They're all just thrown into a big box waiting to expire now, which means I've just wasted money. I'm hoping and praying, by going there, I won't be adding anything to it nor wasting anymore money, in the future.

I'm glad you like my decision. Thank you very much. I hope so too.

I really wish I could go with you but I just don't have the money...and I'm not sure I could handle many of the things there (I'm intolerant to ozone, can't do anything preserved with alcohol such as herbal tinctures, etc.). My insurance covers my current LLND, but would not cover anything I had done at Hansa Center at all (it's a "POS" policy, but it is run more like an HMO).

I hope you are able to go and get the help you need to be on your way to wellness. Take care,

Hi all,

Jennie, I wish you luck in finding someone that will go with you to the Hansa Center.  I followed Dr. J's protocol from his book and have been well for 4 years now or longer.  I couldn't afford to go to his clinic.   Is there a family member that would go with you to Kansas and perhaps rent a car to keep themselves busy during the day meanwhile you are getting treatment?  Just a thought.. 

Have you read Dr. J's book?  I know that following his protocol from home is not as exacting as going to his clinic but it worked for me and other people I know.   His book is packed full of information.

Razzle, if you are reading this, I am a recovering alcoholic and the alcohol was a huge issue for me before I started the protocol.   In the back of Dr. J's new book (2nd edition) he gives 3 or 4 ways of removing all the alcohol from his botanicals.   There was no way I wanted any alcohol in my body!  Back when I did his protocol he didn't explain this in his first book so I called up the clinic and someone there told  me how to remove the alcohol and I never had a problem.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to check the book (I think I have a copy somewhere around here...). I have a metabolic intolerance to alcohol, plus a genetic intolerance for gluten (many alcohols are made from gluten grains), so the alcohol is a big issue. Do you know how much of the alcohol is removed? Putting drops in hot water doesn't work for me...I've tried it and can still taste/smell the alcohol. Also, I have concerns about other ingredients in his formulas...the website for his store does not contain complete ingredient lists for many of the products, and I have allergies & intolerances for a loooooonnnnngggg list of foods, herbs, and inactive ingredients often used in this sort of thing (e.g., citric acid causes me great gastric distress).

Dr. Jernigan's office gave me a printout of all of the remedies they gave me with a list of all the ingredients. If you call their office I'm sure they'll do the same for you.

Thanks - this is good to know. Dr. Jernigan has some excellent formulas that I pretty sure would help me if I could find a way to tolerate them, esp. the nerve detox formulas.
