I went to my Lyme disease clinic doctor. She is having me be put on a pick-line where I have a nurse come to my house for 3 weeks to give me an IV. She said the IV will take an hour a day. I believe I am getting Ceffinoxone, unsure of spelling. Has anyone experienced side effects from it. Also, i have many G.I. issues and am debating whether to just go into a hospital and be inpatient, which is the other option I have. She did say that it probably is not chronic, even though I have the chronic symptoms, arthritis, neurological problems and bone pain, severe fatigue and other issues. But did say that the blood test showed positive IgM, but negative IgG Lyme, but will treat me anyway. This is probably why, she said, that the anti-biotics did not work.

Thank you for the advice. I am still at a standstill with this decision because I live alone, go to school, and have so many other medical issues that i fear I will get sick and may need more medical care. Plus, I have medicare and medicaid, and might have to do it in a hospital. I have so much to decide. Plus, i am not confident in doing needles and mess up everything. That is why it is so hard. Plus, what if this does not work and it is something else. I am unsure who to go to and what illness it can be. I already see a therapist and she said it is not anxiety or psychosomatic, since this happens even during my fun periods o relaxation, especially when I am floating on air and am having a great positive life despite this.

psygirl,

Many Lyme patients have picc lines at home. Why don't you try it out and if you need extra help, then go into the hospital. You may feel better being home in your own bed. Regarding the stomach issues....IV antibiotics are better to take if you have stomach issues as it goes directly into the blood stream and doesn't have to pass through the stomach like oral antibiotics do.
