Any connection with Lyme and Cyst?

Interesting question....I also had a ganglion cyst on my wrist and then two sebaceous cysts on my back...very strange indeed.

I have two sebacious cysts on my leg.

I have cysts, one on each ankle. The doctor I saw told me that they'd come back if I had them aspirated.

I'm just wondering if these cyst could be a hot spot for the bacteria?? I know this is different than what they mean by cystic form, but what if removing them would eliminate a large group of hiding bacteria??

I have a 4 cm cyst in the inner side of my leg/knee.

It has stumped four doctors, who are confused about what it is, despite xray and MRI.

The knee doctor says I have to have general anesthesia to remove it.

I NEVER had this issue before late stage Lyme.

I just wanted to post and add myself to the list of people with a cyst and Lyme.

This is quite painful and appears to be pressing on a nerve.

I did German Lyme doctor recommended Azithromycin and Tinidazole this winter because the tick that bit me was near Kaiserslautern Germany.

I went back to the US in early fall and did a month of Doxycycline and Tinidazole and two earlier regimens of Doxycycline alone, one 25 days initially and one 14 days after it came back in August.

Nerve pain and fatigue are gone but now I have this knee problem.

It happened after I had just re-introduced light jogging.

The doctor can find no mechanical reason for the cyst, no sign of arthritis, no problem with the knee.

The doctors are confused about why it is there so perhaps I will know better when they get it out and analyze it.

I am sorry to hear you went through that. This cyst on my knee is causing significant pain but that sounds excruciating to be of that size.

I had a lady on another forum say this can relate to parasites somehow and I am going to have to look into that and how that might apply with Lyme.

Bartonella can cause subcutaneous nodules. I have a couple. One got inflamed and painful for a while. I told my LLMD about them. Mine are related to Bart. Bartonella can cause calcification as well.

I have a cyst as well, it was operated on about 18 mths ago and is back. My son has lyme and a ganglion cyst when he was 5!

KAR, I'm sorry you're going through all that. We have some European members here. If you need help finding a new LLMD, please feel free to do a post "Looking for LLMD Near Germany" or Your Area (if you're elsewhere). Maybe you can get in touch with some European members to discuss your experiences. We have a lot of very knowledgeable people here who can help you out. You're definitely not alone.

In the U.S., we treat until the symptoms disappear and then for a few months longer. There are a number of herbal protocols, in addition to Buhner. I think Buhner is so popular because it is generally more affordable than other herbal protocols.

In an essay I found entitled "When to Suspect Lyme", the author states:

"In many of my patients, cysts are found not uncommonly in various locations: thyroid, breast, liver, bone, ovary, skin, pineal gland, and kidney. Some forms of Polycystic Kidney and Fibrocystic Breast Disease may be LD manifestations"

I think I've posted a link to this essay in another thread, in reply to a different question, but will try to post it again. I found the whole article really helpful quite early on when I was trying to find my diagnosis, and it has lots of interesting information in it.

I had a LLMD but stopped treatment after getting worse on antibiotics. I tried buhner's Lyme and myco protocols and didn't see any difference. I had all my amalgam removed and am chelating slowly as I treat for parasites. I am going to purchase some essential oils for Lyme, biofilm and antibacterial in general tomorrow to try before going back to antibiotics. 😉

I do have a doctor that is forward thinking and willing to try protocols that I am comfortable with.

I think the cyst on my GB busted while taking antihelmitics as some blood surfaced around my naval. I'm going to ask for an ultrasound to check that out. The pain has abated.

My joints are one of my big issues. Can/do the Bart cysts occur in joints? I know that parasites can and will infiltrate the joints.

Bartonella was my initial diagnosis 7 years ago. Albendazole is the only thing that got rid of my bladder issues. I believe I have Protomyzxoa Rheumetica which is a parasite that ticks can transmit like babesia.

I had a cyst removed within a year of my Bart diagnosis and my daughter is dealing with a "tumor" in her breast that has to be removed. I'm pretty sure it's a cyst but whatever. She is 23 and doesn't want to hear what I have to say about Lyme. 😔 I will just be supportive no matter what!

And... yes, after a car accident, I do have some cysts on my lower leg. When I take larger doses of Houttoynia, it hurts, so I am pretty sure barto lives in there :(
