I was just dx with adrenal fatigue.

Mamayou, would you please post the name and author of your adrenal book? I'm interested in learning more....

He also has a website. Adrenal Fatigue-The 21st Century Stress Syndrome, by James L. Wilson, ND, DC, PhD, Foreward by Johnathan V. Wright. This one is dated 2007. Comprehensive and easy reading. This guy also offers supplements on his website, but I never bought any. If you really decide to try some, you can get the same ones on other sites discounted!!!!!!! Go figure.....

Hi Traveler, yes I'd be glad to hear about it! I already take a few homeopathic meds (I see both a LLMD and a LLND).

I am taking "Adrenal Support" by NatraBio - 3 tablets each day - am, noon & pm. They come in a box of 60 for about $10.00 here. They are over-the-counter at most health food store, or you could probably order them online.

I sure hope they work as well for you as they have for me!!!

OK, thanks Traveler! BTW, do they have DHEA in them? My new PCP told me to take DHEA to help my adrenal fatigue so I've ordered some pills (which haven't arrived yet).

great question, I also was diganosed last week with very very low adreal funtions.
my dr put me on hydrocortisone. after the phamicist went over the side effect I don't want it. it interferes with things I'm on and also lowers immune system I don't even have a Immune system. will this adrenal that your suggestion work for me with low adrenals?

Thanks I'm excited somebody asked thisquestion but not glad u have this.

This is a totally natural treatment! I was deep into adrenal fatigue when my acu doc put me on it & have steadily - not quickly though- been feeling more & more "stable". Since you have already been dxed with low Adrenal function I would go get this & try it for a few weeks!!

I sure hope it helps you as much as it has helped me!!!

Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5) can be helpful for those with low adrenal function.  This vitamin feeds the adrenal glands and helps to restore proper function.  Vitamin C in combination with Vitamin B5 can actually cause some similar side-effects to Prednisone (synthetic cortisol-like drug) when taken for longer than a short period of time because the combination stimulates the adrenal glands to produce more cortisol.

Trav, What's in the formula you use? This will sound bizarre...and I don't think the doctor believed me...but I tried out compounded cortisol, which must have some kind of a hormonal component to it. It went straight to the breast tissue and being how I'm basically one-sided(!)....having both sides hurt and feel 'full' scared the dickens out of me. I quit taking it. The regular adrenal support products that contain either bovine or porcine adrenal gland cause my shoulders and head to ache. The problem is...I KNOW I have adrenal fatigue.... As someone I used to know always said: 'My mama calls me Abby....Abbynormal'.....

nasalady: Read up on DHEA vs. cortisol. We need DHEA but in small doses. I think (and keep in mind my memory is shot...) it has more to do with men and testosterone than women and progesterone. I also think I remember that if you get too much, you can grow facial hair???? Oh geesh. I'm telling you this so you'll research, not because I'm so good at explaining!!

Thanks Mamyou, LOL! Unfortunately, prednisone has already given me a little "mustache" problem! (very thin and light blond, fortunately) But I sure wouldn't want it to get worse!

Actually both men and women produce testosterone, men just produce more of it. But we all need it.

I will definitely research DHEA and cortisol. My doctor prescribed a very small dose of DHEA (10 mg), so hopefully it will be helpful rather than harmful.
