pain under breastbone?

I know, I know, another complaint, but has anyone had a pain under their breastbone.  It's not like indigestion or anything but sore.  Doesn't hurt more to breathe so I don't think respiratory infection or anything.  Just this gnawing pain right in the center of my chest. 

Anyone????

Things to consider (all known to be caused by Lyme/coinfections):

Esophageal spasms -- any difficulty swallowing?
Heartburn -- can be side-effect of meds, or from getting pill stuck in esophagus
Heart-related pain (pericarditis, etc.) -- any other new symptoms?
Costochondritis -- inflammation of connective tissue around rib cage

Suggest you contact your LLMD about this.

thanks so much.  No difficulty swallowing or any other new symptoms today anyway.  No pill stuck, pain been about a week now.  thought maybe muscular but  . . .  I continue to get the most bizzaro symptoms.  Severe nerve pain in hand, weird rashes and shin pain.  I go to LLMD next week.  I'll see what she says. thanks again.

Springsjean, I have pain under my ribs, but it is on the left. I don't really know, but it is where I believe my spleen is. Also, in a full skeletal x-ray (for my spine), it is noted that I have a possible 'granuloma' in that area as well. I have not shown my LLMD my x-rays or the report on them. But my chiro said that granulomas are common and he was not concerned or alarmed by anything on my xrays. WEll, of course, excepting the fact that my spine is shot and could possilby collapse in another few years, or if I injure it.....

And I do have some really bad pain (at times) on down to my breastbone, when eating and swallowing, but only sometimes, not always. And like your pain, it does not hurt to breathe, but, man, it's really rough at times. I do not know why it happens sporadically.
