Anyone here try it?

I have been studying it for months and have brought my research to my Dr, who did his own research and agreed to try it for my Chronic Lyme. I am very excited as the drug shows a LOT of promise for not only Lyme, but many AI's as well as certian types of cancer. I am taking my first dose tonite...

You should use the search function here on this forum. There have been a couple of discussions about LDN on here before. That way you can read what others who have tried it thought of it.

Thank you, Heather's Dad :) I hope she finds relief very soon and the issues can be resolved quickly.

I have found google to be a great way to search for previous posts on HealingWell... Format your search thusly:

"Low Dose Naltrexone" /site:healingwell.com

Google will only return results from the healingwell.com website with the above search criteria. You can further narrow down your search by adding "Lyme" to the above.

I have been on low dose nal for 3 months now but have severe neurological problems...no improvement in them which I need. Benign drug no problem taking.

LDN  is often used for MS. when i thot that was my condition, i did try it with no effect at all...

Dr. Singleton, in his book "Lyme Disease Solution," says one should correct Vitamin D deficiency, imbalanced hormones, and adrenal issues first before starting LDN... I wonder if the non-responders had one of thse 3 issues that were not corrected prior to starting the LDN......

I am on Vit D3 as a precaution, as I tend to have low D...my adrenals have been fine(which I am shocked about) the only thing other than Lyme I deal with is Hashimoto's...which supposedly will be helped by the LDN as well! I am started on the very lowest dose because of that. I am also on the anti-Candida diet(aka the Eat Nothing Diet) as even though my diet is pretty good, I was on abx for 4mo and could not take probiotics so I am sure I have some...another reason LDN may not work well is if you have Candida.


After 2 nights on it I can't say how I feel yet...didn't sleep much the first night, last night was a little better. BUT it wasn't that anxiety-inducing, tossing and turning sort of insomnia...I felt very calm and comfortable, and have been calm during the day (as opposed to the RAGE I was doing...man I hate that) I am hoping for the best!

hello,
I tried it for probably more than 6 months after reading all the good stuff about it.

A couple of months ago I got kind of depressed and was sick and tired of being on over 28 different meds. I stopped taking several different ones to see if I'd notice any changes. LDN was one I stopped and didn't notice any changes not being on it.

I also take D3 5,000 IU's daily. Most Lymies do have some sort adrenal problems. It's helpful to have cortisol levels taken periodically. And even when your cortisol level is normal, if your thyroid's having problems, than cortisol isn't used efficiently.

lots of luck to you. having Lyme forces you to become an research pro. that is, when your brain can handle it!
