Hi everyone,
I have had severe Lyme since August and most likely for 20+ years before that. I'm just starting to go back to work part time after being on disability for 6 months. I'm still not better yet and think I have a long way to go, though glad I can at least work a little bit again. I live in the Boston area.
Anyway, while I have finally found some Lyme doctors, I'm still having lots of issues adjusting to living with chronic illness. Both the stress of living with a disease where I'm sick a lot of the time, and managing my illness, plus the emotional fallout of not being able to do what I can usually do and feeling lonely and isolated. Especially since I'm single and it's been hard to meet people. I've had depression and anxiety from the neuro Lyme and from my life circumstances.
Anyone know a Boston-area psychologist and/or psychiatrist who deals with Lyme, or at least chronic illness? I've tried hard to find someone, but no luck yet! Suggestions are much appreciated!! I have Harvard Pilgrim insurance.
Any other suggestions (what lifts your mood? support groups?) would also be appreciated.
Thanks so much!
