What are good orals for Neuro Lyme?

I was trying to arrange for medical transportation since the Dr wants me to come to his office EVERYDAY but insurance turned me down because im not that much physically disabled... && that was my only way to get there...

So now im only on Doxy 200mg which is back where i was before.. I dont where to turn what to do or what antibiotics to take since my mind was so set on this IV... Since the Dr said i have neuro lyme.. what are some other good antibiotics other then IV Rocephin for neuro lyme?

My insurance turnd me down for IV also. My LLMD said there are other options and not to waste my time or stress on an insurance company appeal. That was a year ago and I have to say that her protocol has me feeling much better. I am on roxythyromin, bactrim, amantadine and now also doryx (time release doxy) along with many supplements and I am feeling better. I have neuro lyme with lesions and rage, anxiety, depression. I take xanax when anxiety gets bad and have tried to cut down on stress and feeling better has helped with that. I also take gabapentin and cymbalta for neuropathy pain and depression. Who knows what's helping what but overall my headaches, joint pain, fatigue, etc. are gone. Hope this helps somewhat.

minocycline in my experience was probably the most effective for neuro lyme. It worked better than amoxicillin and doxy at least.

You can also look into Bicillian (sp) shots. I have heard of people having good luck with them.

My LLMD tells me that Ceftin is oral, tablet form of Rocephin. He is going to put me on this once we see how I do on a Mepron/Azithromycin combo for one month.

Maybe this you should discuss Ceftin with your Doc as an alternative.
