Hi BigKYle!
I am soooo sorry to hear of your precious little boy's situation. Both Lymester and Achievinggrace have given you good information.
I would like to suggest that you read through the thread at the top of the forum titled,
"New to Lyme?...Start here!!", as it is packed full of relevant information and informative links that have been put together by our members here! We also have a pretty good search function on this forum to help you narrow down your search for information from past posts.
Another thing I would like to suggest for reading is Dr. Charles Jones site. He is well-known for his treatment of children with tick-borne infections (TBI's) . Here is a link to his website:
www.drjoneskids.com/ One of the best things you can do for your son at this time is to get him into see a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor(LLMD) - even if it is two hours away. Only they truly understand the complexity of these types of infections. Your son has potentially been exposed to many different tick-borne infections and a LLMD is qualified to evaluate a person clinically (by symptoms & bite history) and prescribe antibiotics (abx) without waiting around for test results - tests that miss a majority of these types of infections.
Please do let us know how your son is doing, as you have the time. We can help answer many questions that you or your wife may have as your son goes through treatment. We also happen to know what it feels like to have these infections & that may prove to be useful as well.
