Virginia state has found that the way LD patients are treated needs to be changed!

This is huge news folks! Once one state has established new guidelines, surely others will be forced to change their stand as well!!! Yea for Virginia!!

I live in Virginia, and Lyme is spreading like wildfire around here. We've been having longer warm periods, which means that the tick season is extended. This is a huge step in the right direction.

I have written to the Governor of Maryland and my local reps in the MD House of Delelgates and MD Senate to please review Virginia's actions - a copy of my letter:

Dear Mr. Conway:

I have sent a similar e-mail to the Governor’s Office and wanted to include one to you as well. As you may have heard recently, the Commonwealth of Virginia, with its Governor’s Task Force on Lyme Disease issued a final report that was adopted unanimously on June 30, 2011. Maryland is just as much, if not more, under endemic spread of Lyme and tick-borne illnesses (TBIs) and the main stream medical community has been very slow to come to grips with it. I would like offer forth this report and ask that Maryland consider the adoption of a similar measure in hopes of improving the life of Marylanders who have or will have Lyme disease or other tick-borne illnesses now and in the future.
