Hey all. I'm new to this forum. I see an internal medicine doctor in a week (after two MONTHS of waiting). My family and I think I have had undiagnosed lyme for over ten years! My question for you all is, has anyone been treated for chronic lyme and had any children afterwards? It is something I will ask my doctor, but I'm curious to ask some real people being treated or that have gone through treatment. Thanks :)

I have two children, that I will have to get tested. :( I'm fairly sure my oldest has it. He had to have his tonsils and adnoids out at 2, had sleeping issues. And he has developed anxiety and ocd, just like me. I will have to fly them to another state tho so have them diagnosed and treated because there is nowhere in Ohio that will treat them, and the doctor I'm seeing in PA does not treat children :(

We have several members here who have had children after having Lyme. Some were treated with antibiotics throughout their pregnancy in order to avoid infecting the baby.

I'm sure they will be along soon to answer your question. In the meantime, you can search older threads using the search function in the top right hand corner of the screen.

If you haven't already, it would be beneficial for you to start with reading through the thread at the top of the forum titled,"New to Lyme?...Start here!!", as it is packed full of relevant information and informative links that have been put together by our members here! We also have a pretty good search function on this forum to help you narrow down your search for information from past posts.

You really need to be seen by a physician that already knows how to treat Tick-Borne Infections, as these are incredibly complex infections.

For information on finding a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor(LLMD) (please be sure to say that you are looking for a Pediactric LLMD) in your area, please email our long time member, Dan's Mother at:[email protected]

I will be seeing a internal medicine doctor in PA in a week. I have been waiting two months! I don't know if I am able to write the name of the doctors on the forum or not? If it's against rules?

To Jess1ca318 - My neuro symptoms that I have had for a long time, since childhood are anxiety and panic attack episodes, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder. I was misdiagnosed as bipolar as well. After having my daughter in January other symptoms began to appear. I forget things. I cannot think of my words. When someone is telling me something to write down I cannot process is in my head and write it to paper. I lose things. I will be on my cell phone and run around the house looking for it! I cannot hold things in my hands without dropping them. I lose my balance, almost like vertigo but more dizzyness. My spelling has also got a lot worse. The main symptom that I have always had is my OCD. It has got to a point where I can't do anything without doing some sort of ocd. It gets so bad I want to scream and I end up being so frustrated I just cry and can't move.
