Does Anyone think this could be a tick bite/Lyme Disease?

I was in south Florida last week and about 5 days ago I noticed this on my right arm. I was thinking it was a mosquito bite but I am having doubts now. It is relatively small, about 1 inch diameter and does not itch. It's kinda darker around the bite and then a shade lighter. I am really concerned now. about 2 years ago, I was bitten by a tick and I did develop the bulls eye rash on the back of my leg but it was much bigger and much more clearly defined with the rounds. I got treatment right away and never developped any symptoms of lyme.

But with this one I am not sure if its just a mosquito bite (which can cause rashes with me) or if it is lyme.

What do you think?

Hi Missy Higgins,

Welcome to the forum!

Your bite does look like it has a a ring aspect to it. You could measure it and monitor it for the next couple days. Only a lyme rash would continue to get larger.

In the meantime, you could arrange to see your doctor -- you can always cancel the appt if the mark starts fading.

Missy Higgins, It looks enough like a developing bull's eye to have a knowledgeable Dr look at this and begin treatment.

Welcome to our forum! I am so sorry that you have had a tick-borne infections already and now may have been reinfected!!

I agree with the others - it's been there for a while and you should seek out a knowledgeable doc to check it out. Do you already know of a LLMD (Lyme Literate Medical Doctor)? Or would you like our list of places where you can get a referral?
