I know this is a little late for some, but I wanted to wish everyone a safe weekend!

Time to batten down the hatches and take cover. Please don't take any unnecessary chances!!!

And please check back in here when it finally blows over where you live!! We will want to hear from you!

Thanks Trav. Had to come home early from vacation. Not a happy camper but hotel was closing and we were better off getting home safe and early instead of getting stuck in traffic. Hopefully won't lose power for too long.

I'm in for another basement flood for sure.   Gutters won't  be able to handle the 18 hours of steady, hard  rain. 

So many big trees !!   No idea where to park my car so it doesn't get crushed if one comes down.

Cat - since you have a basement, you could put your car in there...it would be safe from falling trees!!! Giggle!!!

Yes thank you Trav for thinking of all of us.

We're about 2 hours north of NYC in the Hudson Valley. about 10 mins. from the Hudson River. Not sure what we're going to get.

Have everything pretty much secured, I hope.

Will let you all know what happens here.

Please anyone in Irene's path be safe.

Lots of roads flooded......some trees down.....but no loss of power or property damage at my house.   Lucky !!!!

Bump ~ as I know that not all in the East Coast area have power yet.
