Everyone knows stress is bad for your health. I'm sure my doctor has told me once or twice to avoid stress. Well, in the last 2 weeks I've sent her 3 messages(initially because she wrote the wrong prescriptions for me and I needed them last week to mail away so it costs me $30 instead of $100) and she has not responded. In the past she hasn't been too prompt, but this is ridiculous. I'm out of medication I need and on top of that I'm gonna have to just stop 2 antibiotics because I don't have them.

I recently applied for disability and she's the doctor I listed....and I think I'm in trouble. I've been seeing her for 6 mOnths and now I guess I have to find a new doctor who actually cares. I was already at the end of my rope and sicker than I've ever been and now I have to start all over for what will be the third time!? (first time I saw a great doctor but then I fell for the "you don't have Lyme you have fibromyAlgia/are depressed" trap).

What am I supposed to do? Ive committed myself to this unbelievably aggressive treatment, sacrificed so much, and now I'm supposed to start over with somebody new? I'm sorry for all the negative posts lately but I'm really freaking out. Time and money are precious right now, and there's so much else going on with essentially becoming homeless and my parents (who've been reluctantly financially supporting me) getting a divorce (as of 2 days ago)...this is just more than I can handle. What do I do?

Two weeks is just unconscionable! Is sending email messages the only way you communicate with her? Wondering what the people in her office have to say? Even if she's on vacation, there should be someone to fill a prescription. In fact this just happened to me.

I've heard  from some that it's actually a good idea to take a break from abx once in a while, so maybe don't panic about that.

Let us know how this gets resolved.

oh borderlyme, my heart goes out to you right now. I can just imagine what you are going through. It seems like you might just have to find yourself another llmd. One that truly cares and will help you.
I know there are people on here that have gotten better after many many many years and you will too.

There are also some who do natural herbs and supps to maybe keep things in check til you get it resolved.
I think maybe it is one of our dear moderators, Trav, that is very knowledgeable on that stuff.
Actually she knows alot about alot!

Thank you everybody it really means so much to have your support! I don't think I have any choice but to find a new doctor...even if she does finally get back to me, the trust is gone. In one sense it does seem like a blessing in disguise, as there were a lot of things in her protocol (or missing from it) that I didn't feel were right for me. And she never really seemed that invested. I guess it's time for LLMD #3! Here's hoping three's a charm!

Oh Borderlyme!
I am soooo sorry to hear about your situation!! As the others have said - it may turn into a good thing! Right now, can you go to the docs office and sit in the waiting room until you can talk to someone about getting those 'scripts? If you can push them into filling them one more time, that would 'buy' you a little more time to find a LLMD that will take this seriously.

If that's not an option - or doesn't work - then I would suggest (as did Scorp) that you use a couple of herbals that will keep symptoms at bay at least, until you find a LLMD and can get started on his/her protocol.

She finally called back...sort of. She called the house she knows I no longer live in and left a vague message so I had to call her back and leave another one. Let's see if she actually calls ME back now! I don't know if I can keep seeing her unless she can come up with some excuse for being so negligent.

Maybe we ought to start another thread for members to say a just a short sentence or two about the LLMD that they are seeing?

And the saga continues....

After waiting another 48 hours (having already waited over 2 weeks) for a response to a very simple request (that she correct a mistake she made by rushing me out of my last appointment) my doctor finally called...MY phone this time rather than my old residence. Gotta say...TOTALLY not worth the wait!!

She called to inform me that she doesn't give 90-day prescriptions because patients tend to stop coming in for their appointments. Funny how she never mentioned this protocol in the last 6 months of writing me 3-month supplies of everything (I need to do this for insurance to cover things-very annoying).

Then she proceded to tell me that she's very busy and things like this should really be sorted out during appointments. EXCUSE ME!? I hadn't realized you were only my doctor for 15 minutes every 4 weeks. This WOULD have been sorted out during my last appointment had she remembered to note that I need 90 day supplies rather than 60, had she given me a chance to discuss everything on the list I'd made, had she not rushed out a patient who was about to faint in her office! Even so...how dare this woman!? I'm paying her A LOT of money to treat my illness...if I need to call her about something I shouldn't be told she's too busy! What if I have an emergency? Too busy to care? I'm so outraged, so insulted. This is a COMPLICATED illness and I don't understand anymore why I'm paying her yet I'm doing all the work. I'M THE ONE who suggests performing certain tests. I'M the one who brings up EVERY new addition to my treatment plan. I'M the only one who is invested in this thing. She was so rude to me, but I have to keep up with her because of my stupid disability claim. So frustrated. NO TRUST.

Maybe you should check to be sure that she is still on board for the Disability Claim? That would be disastrous if she decided that she was too busy for that at the last minute.

If you have serious questions about her being there for the Disability as well, then I would suggest that you find an new LLMD now, rather than trying to do that later, after you've committed even more time to this doc.
