Buspirone?

I went to the doctors today for some unrelated stuff... but ended up leaving with the anxiety medication Buspirone.

Lyme anxiety still gets to me sometimes. I mentioned this to my doctor and he asked if I wanted to do something about it this time. So I decided to go for it. I know alot of these anti-anxiety pills can have weird side effects so I told my doc I want the least sketchy product on the market. He said Buspirone is not like the other pills and you only take it when needed... not everyday. He also said they're not really sure how it works in the brain (sketchy) but it has less side effects than the other options. Anyway... I guess I'll try one sometime this week and see how it goes.

Does anyone have any experience with Buspirone?

I took it once years ago for anxiety, except I took it every day (in a really small dose). It definitely helped my anxiety, but only around as much as GABA supplements so if you're looking for something less "sketchy"...only problem I had with both of those (which is why I stopped) was that it made me stupid. Looking back this mental fuzziness may have been the Lyme and not a side effect. I also noticed that I was more carefree on buspirone-to a fault. I was taking it during finals at school and didn't even care how I did! But I think that'll happen with anything for anxiety, lowers your inhibition or whatever. As far as I can remember it was pretty safe.
