No bumps from Mosquito bites- Immune system issue??

So this is random, but as long as I can remember I've never gotten visible mosquito bites. Now this makes absolutely no sense because I know they are biting me... I SEE them bite me. And I FEEL them bit me. But I get no bumps, no itchiness, no red spots, etc.

Just a few days ago I was playing music with a fellow musician for an outdoor wedding (exhausted and in pain, but I made it through...). The other player got devoured by those evil little monsters. Although swatting them away constantly, and even feeling the prick of their bites, I went home with not a bump... The other person said the next day that they were so pock marked that they looked like they had some strange skin disease...

Little history: I believe I was bitten by a tick before age 8, and possibly several more times after that. I had no rash to my knowledge, but who the heck knows when you're a kid... not to mention back that far no one even knew what lyme was anyways... (I'm 33 now). But it all makes me wonder. Like, am I just not allergic to insect bites? OR, is it that my immune system is so compromised by the Lyme that I'm not reacting at all to any of it?

Incidentally, I had malaria back in 2002 during a trip to West Africa... but that's a whole other story...

Also, a little off topic, but I don't get fevers. I know this is typical of Lyme patients and is a result of a compromised immune system... it all makes me wonder......... (I think I'll make a new post on fevers later- forgive my rambling train of thought tonight!! This is what insomnia does to me....).

As I understand mosquito bites, most people have a reaction to the either the substance the mosquito injects into the skin that acts as an anesthetic or the substances that acts as an anti-coagulant to keep the blood flowing.

So while the anesthetic works on you - as you don't feel anything - you are not allergic to it.

Perhaps there is a problem with your immune system. Are you doing anything to boost your immune system?

LOL! Good thing Achievinggrace is being responsible!! All I was going to tell you is how lucky you are!!! I was bit at about the same age - 7 yrs for me, had no rash, although I have been fortunate that I've never had malaria! I seem to attract all kinds of bugs! The mosquitoes just looove me, and they can leave some pretty big welts on me!

I do agree with Acievinggrace ~ are you doing anything to boost your immune system? Have you mentioned this to your LLMD? It could be a clue to something.

I'll definitely mention it to my LLMD when I next see him.

I take lots of vitamin C, among a whole host of other vitamins (B, D, B12 sublinguals, etc. etc. etc.). But as a ridiculous insomniac, the lack of sleep can't be doing good things for my immune system at all... I'm sure there are other supplements I could be taking, but I'm trying to add things slowly to my regiment so I can tell what is causing what result/reaction/side effect. I'm open to suggestions though!

I just thought this was so weird... usually with mosquito bite immunity you have to be bitten really really consistently to stop reacting. And besides this last month which has been especially infested with the little critters, I can't say I notice them too much. Not to mention health keeps me indoors most of the time these days.. so it is strange.

Although you might be right about an immune issue I to also never had a fever never had a mosquito bite in my life but I do however have multiple sclerosis and so dose my brother who also is not affected by bites this might be something more to look into

You mentioned you and your brother have MS. Are you suspecting that it might actually be Lyme Disease you have?

Many people are misdiagnosed as having MS, when they in fact have Lyme Disease instead.

Maintaining a healthy environment at home is must to live a healthy life. My uncle is also dealing with this infectious disease because of the bug bite. My aunt even took help from a service for the bug extermination. Thanks to them for professional service which made the environment healthy by the extermination. I hope my uncle gets well soon from this problem.
